The school is in the heart of downtown Shinjuku, which is west of Tokyo. It is called a nightlife district in the city. The neighborhood has neon signs on storefronts and an array of restaurants, lounges, karaoke venues and more all within walking distance of the school. Genki Japanese and Culture School itself is situated on the grounds of the historical Hanazono Shrine.
Shinjuku Station is a large subway station in Tokyo, and it is a 7-minute walk from the schoolhouse. It is a major hub for many train lines, and there are also popular bus stations attached to it. It takes 45 minutes by public transport from the centre of the city to the school.
It is easy to visit the attractions near Tokyo from Genki Japanese and Culture School as it has an excellent local train station. It takes 35 minutes by bus to reach the Imperial Palace, Sens?-ji, and the Sky Tower are all around 45 minutes from the community and the attractions to the south of the city like the Meiji Jingu and the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden are 30 minutes away by bus.
There are instructional classes for short-term and long-term pupils, lessons that focus on culture as well as speaking Japanese, and a specialized course geared toward conversational skill-building.
The school has the computer setup to assist students learn outside of the classroom with a number of PCs they can use with office applications, a study area, a library with a book and manga section and books, and a rental facility for free DVDs as well as CD players to listen to Japanese language.Former students can consume free coffee and enjoy undisturbed play on the wii game console during the break.
