One Spanish immersion school - two locations

Intercultura Costa Rica Spanish Schools were founded in 1993. Their sole purpose is to listen to their students, provide the best teaching and services, and give students the overall experience of the Costa Rican culture. The school gives individuals the opportunity to study Spanish year-round at their historical and cultural locations. Here individuals can attend classes that are are tailored for students to interact with teachers on a personal level. The facility has private and public classes; also classes have age groups ranging from teens to college level for students.

There are also classes for groups and families; so that individuals can learn and share together. In addition to learning Spanish, students can immense themselves into the rich cultural programs. The activities to enhance the learning experience is free; and students can also volunteer. The schools is known for working with individual students and groups from around the world. The school has been chosen by universities such as, Duke and UNC for their study abroad program.

What We Offer to Our Students

The staff is friendly and open and willing to answer any questions students may have during their stay. The staff encourages and helps students to get to know the Spanish teachers. Everyday is an opportunity to learn and practice Spanish during activities that the teachers lead daily. By the end of the program students will have lived the culture and spoken the language.

The intercultural Costa Rica Spanish Schools have university accredited Spanish teachers.
The teachers are constantly improving their professional development by attending workshops. Each teacher has a classroom that is small so that students receiving personal attention. The curriculum is accredited and in most cases will transfer over to American universities. Their homestay program provides a safe home with a family that is a close distance to the school. In addition, the homestay program gives students the opportunity to interact and speak Spanish continuously.

The schools focus is not only on educating students in the Spanish language; but also community service. The schools are committed to the surrounding community. Financial profits are disbursed throughout the community to improve social development and create scholarship programs. Both schools and their staff have organized and participated in associations to aid the low-income and disadvantaged groups in the community. The schools volunteer program, gives students that have finished their courses; an opportunity to work in the areas of social, educational, and environmental services.
