Founded in 1999 by the International Au-Pairs Language Abroad Group, this school also teaches university students, various professionals and retired people. Their modern, prestigious curriculum emphasizes the use of computers, tablets and various audio-visual equipment to help students learn the language. All instructors are native Spanish speakers and their version of the language is the most pure possible, though tailored to the needs of individual students. Each course is about 55 minutes long. Cultural workshops and excursions into the city are available during leisure hours.
Students must be at least 16 years old to attend. The school’s eight classrooms have a maximum occupancy of 10 students per class; most average somewhere between 3 and 6. The Spanish Language School boasts a very diverse student body, with people coming to learn from throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
Private apartments (for 18 or older) provide either single or double rooms at 110 or 80 euros per week, respectively, and 30 euros for extra nights. A 150 euro deposit is required, from which a 20 euro cleaning cost is retained by the school. Host families have similar prices but vary based on eating arrangements.
